Because of problem with the internet connection the Black Jim blog hasent been updated for a couple of days. Here comes some more pictures from the opening party thou and hopefully the connection works better from now on,...
So now it´s offical... Black Jim Studio and Gallery is open and was celebrated the whole night long. During the day we will update you with pictures and videos from the night.
Thanks to everyone who was there. You made a memory for us all to keep.
We will update you with information later about the "Open"-times for Black Jim and of course special events like "Open stage-improv" and coming performances.
Tomorrow we open "Black Jim Studio & Gallery" with an Exibition by Sofia Nilsson & Open stage for everyone that wanna perform, sing a song, read poetry, dance, yeah whatever you come up with. It starts at 20.00. Welcome!
Today Ryan Nash came by at 10, and we worked on the stage for a couple of hours. When Ryan went home me & Sofia painted it, and tried to figure out witch painting that should be in the background of the stage.
Yesterday night we saw poetry at Mano, it was crowded and afterwards we went to Tony´s place for a late jam-session. On the way home we also ran into Mando Diao singer Gustav Norén and Sofia wasn´t late to ask for a picture. She invited him to the opening at Saturday but unfortunally they where leaving town after signing records at Saturn friday afternoon.
Yesterday Marty sent some inventations, started a facebook-group(are you there guys?) and also tryed to create flyers in photoshop. It wasn´t a success...
Sofia finished a painting. Another one in the serie´s with people in hats. Big black once.
By lunch at Thursday american writer & musician, Tony Dreannan, came by with his visitor Felicia for a quick coffea.
The rest of the day the crew are gonna prepare the gallery room and maybe later go see poets Ryan Nash & Paula Varjack perform at New Word Order.
* Write inventations for the gallery opening. * Finish the stage (Ryan comes by 15 a clock) * Find spotlights. * Brainstorm about a "Black Jim" sign outside the gallery. * Finish "the hat" painting (Sofia) * Put up prize tags for postcards and demo-records(Martin)
Yesterday we built a calendar for the whole year. Just to have a overlook for coming things like exibitions, travels and birthdays. Every day the calendar will be painted also. And when the year is finished it will be it´s owm little masterpiece.
What else?
Me(Martin)and Ryan Nash are building a stage in the Gallery area. A lilltle one that´s gonna suit a maximum of 3 people, smal ones, or better 2, big ones. Hopefully the stage is gonna be finished for the opening party this Saturday. In the future is gonna be used for smal acustic gigs and spoken-word or whatever crazy idea that comes up.
What else?
The Swedish-Dubliner Anton Ahlén has named the painting made by Waldemaar with the big nose, "Insomnia- Think about it". Thanks Anton, you´ve won a weekend at Black Jim Studio including music, art and Berliner Kindl.
I know. I´m not there yet. But...I play around with it. Isn´t that what matters? I wonder what I´m gonna call these two. Any suggestions? The first one is made on (duk?). And the other one on wood.
It´s one of those mondays. When you are inspired, yeah almost to inspired to do anything. Soon I´m gonna start recording thou. A Song called "Skolgårdsgruset". Last couple of days 2 songs have been reorded "New York City Boys" and "Once every second". Also some paintings have been made. You´ll see them later here. Just gonna find out how I put them in the computer...
