About Black Jim
For those who`s still not sure what Black Jim is about or where it´s at, here comes a little bit info.
Black Jim Studio & Gallery opened at the 14 th of February 2009.
It's runned by Sofia Nilsson & Martin Bengtsson, two swedish artists that been living in Berlin since 2008. Black Jim got a room for exhibitions, a smal stage and a music-studio.
It's open three times a week: Wednesday, Friday & Saturday 15-22, and also there is an open-mic twice a month. New is also a little second-hand store.
In March & April you will see the art exhibition "Bringin back black" by Sofia Nilsson.
If you are interested in having an exhibition or sell your own designs for clothes, jewllery etc. at Black Jim Gallery & Studio you are welcome to contact us at blackjim@live.de or e-mail us on myspace/blackjimstudio.

Direction to Black Jim studio and Gallery. U-bahn kottbusser Tor, straight ahead on adalbertstrasse, then left (links) to Waldemarstrasse 21.

Open-Mic, Mustach-Marty-Birthday-Party & "Bringing Back Black" exibition by Sofia Nilsson, 14/3
Here comes yesterdays birthday-party and open-mic in pictures. Thanks everyone for coming, and next open-mic/improv is at the 27th of March!

19.48: On the walls art by Sofia Nilsson who have here exibition "Bringing Back Black" til the end of the month .



21.03: People enter the Black Jim Gallery. The die-hard fans had been hanging on the lock since 20.

Winta Yohannes, Gellert Tamas and Paula Guidugli hanged out in the Gallery.

New people had find Black Jim and the stage-builder Ryan Nash entertained them.

Ryan Nash and Marin Bengtsson a.k.a Waldemaar started the night as usuall with a toy-organ intro and a trumphet solo.

The audience. Noemi Gonzalez had a front seat while Tony Dreannan and Gellert Tamas took the once in the background.

The crowd sang a long to the improv songs "The spanish clap", "23", "Joi the lavyer" & "Don´t fuck my daughter" and of course poems by Ryan Nash.

Paula (to the left) played the homemade maracas and found a brasilian sound.

Noemi Gonzalez & Ryan Nash ended the night with some spanish tunes.

Långa tåg av längtan
Today the gallery is open. 15-22.
Fia is away and getting some candles and stuff for tonight when it´s gonna be a birthday dinner and maybe an open-mic if anyone is in an mode to grab the guitar or toy-organ.
Marty is listening to Thåström an his new CD "Kärlek är för dom".

Black Jim opening times

This is the open times at Black Jim in March.
Write them down in your calender, set an alarm, feed the Outlock.

At the 14 th and 27 th of March we do an Open-mic thing. We intend to keep that tradition twice a month. So don´t miss. But If you did miss it we present it for you again...

Mr White, MCC and chin chin

While Martin is in Sweden recording Sofia is working on her arty "french gallerista" look.Yesterday she had a photo session with Mr White who likes to se himself "like the new Warhol".


Sofia is also preparing some space for a exhibition by Chin Chin. You can se some of her works on the walls of café Luzia at Oranienstrasse 34.

Sofias art on your coffee cup?
Funky Friday, Animal Farms and progress

Marty is in Sweden doing a smal booktour, reharsing music for a coming Waldemaar recording and also making some kind of game-plan for the year.
Sofia is back in Berlin and enjoys the spring. Lucky bastard.
On monday some new music is for sale at BJ that Marty takes with him from Sweden.
The band Spunkmeyers have donated there CD to the Gallery and the crew are very thankfull for that.
We can highly recomend the track "I don´t like". Come in and listen!
BJ-friends The Animal Farm Band have shoot a musicvideo for there first single Christmas Song that I share here.

The Gallery is working on one bigger exibition for the summer aswell. Contacts have been takin and we will update you as soon as something is ready to be said in this matter.
