Getting to know the neighborhood

In my search of getting to know Berlin I decided to start of small, so today I´ve been hanging out with my turcish neighbors, we´ve been drinking lods of thée and been listining to turcish hip hop for about two hours. We don´t talk alot but I can feel we have a nice connection. This was todays conversation.

- Biggie Smalls says the tucish guy.
- Yeah, he´s awesome.
- I like Biggie.
- Yeah me too. He´s great. Which one is your favorite song?
- Yeahh.....

- Thée? Asks the turchis guy.
- Yes please. What kind of thée is this? It´s very good.
- Yeahh....

Good morning!

Me and the gallerista number ono went out last night. We saw Ditto jamming at the Dot club which was exciting, even if that was a blast it was something else that totally had the focus of the whole night. Before coming to dot club me and Tha Gallerista decided on having a burger, so we did at Macdonalds, this burger was so awesome we went back 4 hours later taking a U-turn just to get to Macdonalds. And for the whole night and even moring we spoke but nothing else than this burger so if you the lady with the brown hair by the cashier reads this blog I now announce that you have a free painting from the gallery to cash in, we love you!

I´m from now, on my own

Hi!
I´m Victor, been away for awhile in Kenya, now I´m back not in Sweden as many expected but in Berlin. Here I will work with my brother in the Black Jim Gallery. My brother Marty will travel back to Sweden for a week and I will for the first time in my life be alone in the gallery. I will guide visitors in the gallery but I will also search in the jungle of bars and nightlife of Berlin, so this week you get to follow my experiences of the Berlin life!

"And if you don´t know, now you know. "

¨before, the motorcycle was God, now God is God¨
Precher Mike Arnold

In his work BIKERIDERS FOR JESUS Swedish photographer Magnus Westerborn portrays Preacher Mike Arnold and his motorcycle ministry The Christian Crusaders.

Magnus Westerborn:
¬– I met Preacher Mike first time in the 90:s when I visited Sturgis in South Dakota USA taking pictures at the big motorcycle rally. He had his ministry tent in the parkinglot in front of Lynn supermarket.
One evening I visited and the rough looking bikers inside praising God and Jesus aroused my curiousity. Next day I went back and sitting under a tent in the heat Preacher Mike told about his work inside the biker culture. A culture he talked about as his congregation, which embraces clubs like the Hells Angels and Outsiders as well as independent bikers and ordinarly people living in and around the subculture.
Before leaving I took his picture, him sitting on his Harley Panhead, Jesus is Lord written on the tank, looking straight in the camera. The outlook and bike symbolizes strongly the outlaw biker culture but sometimes what we see is not always whats inside.

Some years later Magnus Westerborn travels to USA again to find Preacher Mike, bringing a big print of the portrait from their first meeting in Sturgis. Late one night they meet in a motel in Kennewick, Washington State.
In the following years Magnus Westerborn travels to USA a number of times to meet with Preacher Mike and his Christian Crusaders, working on his pictorial documentary BIKERIDERS FOR JESUS.
