The Funeral

Black Jim Gallery is closing down.

At the 5 th of December the famous venue in Kreuzberg dies.
There for we have a party, a "Funeral Party", to celebrate everything Black Jim Gallery ever was and wasn´t.

Gallery owner Martin Bengtsson says;

"The desicion to close the Gallery is based on Black Jim Gallery herself.
She has become a grown up now, ready to move on, see the world & maybe find another Gallery that she can get kids with or just have as a random fuck til she get experienced enough to settle down. I mean I know she´s just one year but this little girl has grown up so fast that she´s getting hard to handle. Our fights has been harder & harder. Yeah, we´ve even tryed "Father & Daughter" therapy for a while but nothing seems to work on this rebellious child. To celebrate that she´s crazy, just like everyone else of us, we will have a party.
Some of us might see this "Funerl Party" in one way, some other will see it differently, but the important thing is that we´re there. To support & celebrate the Gallery, ourselfs, Berlin & most important - The Art we have given & shared with each other and others during the last year in Black Jim Gallery."

Everyone. Bring your lyrics, instruments, poems and so on and feel free to perform at the hand made "Ryan Nash"-stage for the last time. Send an e-mail to blackjim@live.de or write in the guestbook down here if you´re interested in your own, short, slot. There will be a couple of performances and after that the famous Black Jim - Open Mic.
Welcome to write your last words to the Gallery aswell & share memories from this era in the guestbook or during the night at the 5 th.

See you, friends & family at the 5 th of December.
Til then;
"Everywhere we go, everywhere we go, everywhere we go, they say Damn!"

Getting to know the neighborhood

In my search of getting to know Berlin I decided to start of small, so today I´ve been hanging out with my turcish neighbors, we´ve been drinking lods of thée and been listining to turcish hip hop for about two hours. We don´t talk alot but I can feel we have a nice connection. This was todays conversation.

- Biggie Smalls says the tucish guy.
- Yeah, he´s awesome.
- I like Biggie.
- Yeah me too. He´s great. Which one is your favorite song?
- Yeahh.....

- Thée? Asks the turchis guy.
- Yes please. What kind of thée is this? It´s very good.
- Yeahh....

Good morning!

Me and the gallerista number ono went out last night. We saw Ditto jamming at the Dot club which was exciting, even if that was a blast it was something else that totally had the focus of the whole night. Before coming to dot club me and Tha Gallerista decided on having a burger, so we did at Macdonalds, this burger was so awesome we went back 4 hours later taking a U-turn just to get to Macdonalds. And for the whole night and even moring we spoke but nothing else than this burger so if you the lady with the brown hair by the cashier reads this blog I now announce that you have a free painting from the gallery to cash in, we love you!

I´m from now, on my own

Hi!
I´m Victor, been away for awhile in Kenya, now I´m back not in Sweden as many expected but in Berlin. Here I will work with my brother in the Black Jim Gallery. My brother Marty will travel back to Sweden for a week and I will for the first time in my life be alone in the gallery. I will guide visitors in the gallery but I will also search in the jungle of bars and nightlife of Berlin, so this week you get to follow my experiences of the Berlin life!

"And if you don´t know, now you know. "
